Anyone want a new life? Want to escape from daily misery? In March of 2008 I received a phone call from Mr. Madiba Thompson that CHANGED MY WORLD!
I was managing a multi-million dollar a year security company at the time (as an employee) and I was earning a six-figure income personally. From the outside looking in I suppose that my life looked great…but from the inside, where I lived, it was terrible! I had a ton of stress, a ton of debt, a ton of personal problems (revolving around personal issues that I didn’t even know I had) and I was searching for ANY WAY TO ESCAPE.
When Mr. Thompson called me that afternoon I was stretched so thin in so many ways that I can’t even describe them all. I probably didn’t come across on the phone as even being human at first, much less FRIENDLY!
Mr. Thompson interviewed me to see if I had the qualities of someone he would work with. I was used to doing the interviews, not being interviewed, but for some reason I opened up and began spilling my guts.
Questions that would normally be considered routine and mundane such as, “What do you do for a living?” became overwhelmingly real to me as I stammered to answer them for Mr. Thompson (as well as for myself). Here was a person who had no ties to my life listening to my story with no predjudice! For a powerfully positioned person this is both a rarity and a luxury. We talked about what I was currently doing and then about what I wished I could be doing. My mind was ablur with the growing hope that was beginning to spark to life a little at a time.
Could I really change my life? Could I really? Could he really help me? Would he help me?
Mr. Thompson interviewed me brilliantly (by actually listening) and then he sent me to an online presentation. I had some computer problems so I didn’t even get the information properly reviewed. My head was somewhere else. I was well aware of how boxed in I had become in my life. For the first time in years I felt the excitement that only comes from possibility!
When Mr. Thompson called a few minutes later to follow up with me, I couldn’t wait to join him and whatever (I still didn’t even know or care) it was that he was doing! I felt like my chest was going to explode! I will never forget the moment when he said, “Welcome to the team. How do you want your name spelled on your checks?”
I was a quick study. (joke) I had already read almost every self-help book in print! I had many courses in my library. I had gone to many conferences and workshops. Why was I still so screwed up? The problem with all of that is that it doesn’t follow you home and mentor you. I FINALLY found someone who would! Was it easy? No, it was worth it!
Two years later you wouldn’t recognize my life. I eliminated my debt thanks to specific training in that regard that Mr. Thompson had me plug into. I found that I no longer had to be a corporate mercenary. I was able to move my beautiful wife and our sons back to my home state. We love our home in the country far away from all of the hustle and bustle. I had moved out of state over a decade before due to my home state having a weak economy.
With what I learned through my close association with Mr. Thompson, that no longer mattered because all I need now to make money is a few minutes here and there and a phone line. That’s the way I thank Mr. Thompson. I return the favor to someone new.
