Well if you’ve been reading my blog for a while now you know that I don’t like to sugar coat things and if this is your first time reading a post of mine, I hope you will find it as a breath of fresh air to your life. One of my mentors that is about total life satisfaction and not just finances albeit she is worth millions and very well off, use to remind us that “conformity breeds content”. I have a couple of definitions of conformity for you ~is the act of matching attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors to what individuals perceive is normal of their society or social group. is a type of social influence involving a change in belief or behavior in order to fit in with a group. Content~accept as adequate despite wanting more or better. So what was meant by the wake up call statement of conformity breeds content is that most of us walk through life living it by default instead of by design, we tend to settle for the status quo. If you are reading this post right now you are definitely in different shoes or giving it your best shot to put on a new pair of shoes because the other ones are getting very uncomfortable.
Don’t Stay Where You Know You Shouldn’t
But literally folks the comfort zone is not a good place to stay, look at some of the cliche’ statements out there in life like “No Pain, No Gain!” or “When the going gets tough, the tough get going!” Those sayings and tons of others are something you’ve heard for a reason they are purpose driven and at this point in your life they resonate with you much more then before. These words have meaning now, so don’t take them lightly and understand that your journey to greatness which despite what anyone tells you, you were designed and destined for. It is going to be an uncomfortable change but you need to BREAK THROUGH! The difference of breakthrough and failure is usually so small, like this powerful quote from Thomas Edison “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.”
The comfort zone is a horrible thing it may be stopping your breakthrough in a relationship because maybe you were taught it’s okay for someone to be abusive physically or mentally, maybe you were teased your whole life and so you find it normal. HELL NO THAT’S NOT NORMAL AND IT SURE AIN’T OKAY! Maybe you are just comfortable with barely getting by financially on a month to month basis. The comfort zone my friends reading this right now is not the place to be, the comfort zone is what plenty of my elders that I have interviewed say is the reason later on in life people have so much regret. Do you want to live a life of regret or do you want to live a purpose driven life where you make uncomfortable changes, that allow you to live an uncommon life that you can share with others that will allow them to get out of their rut? Today you have a decision to make, matter of fact right now you have a decision to make like one of my mentors said “Either I’m going to live my life according to the circumstances I’ve got in front of me, or I’m going to live it according to where I wanna go, which one will you pick!” ~ Dani Johnson
You can do this my friends you can have the breakthrough that you really want in life please stop settling I feel tears welling up in my eyes because I want it so bad for you even if I don’t know you, I believe in you, I know you can do it. Because when I was at that lonely and low place in life someone believed in me more then I did myself. So step out in faith because FAITH sees the invisible, believes the incredible, & receives what others think is impossible. This year will go by, this month will go by, the week, the day, the hour, the minute and the second will all go by, so make a decision to go in the direction you really want to right now. You can breakthrough, so don’t any longer let the comfort zone stop your breakthrough, you can do it. Below I’ve posted a video of one of my mentors that I kept speaking in regards to and I think this clip itself can make a difference for you starting your breakthrough journey right now so ENJOY!
